The lead
Friday, April 4, 2026 was a busy MLB card: doubleheaders in places, a postponed Cubs and Guardians game that set up a weekend makeup in Cleveland, and enough crooked numbers to fill the highlights. Finals: MLB.com and ESPN. The tables below are AthX Engine fantasy totals for that night; share prices follow dynamic pricing.
Why shutouts and blowouts both matter here. An 11-0 road win and a 10-5 slugfest look different on television, but both feed the same kind of table: who produced pitching and hitting fantasy points, and which team lines graded highest when wins, runs scored, and runs allowed roll into team fantasy scoring.
Houston set the team bar. The Houston Astros blanked the Athletics 11-0 at Sutter Health Park. Christian Walker paced the hitting sheet for the night, and the Astros landed the top AthX Engine team fantasy total on the card. Our Astros recap walks through the shutout shape.
New York (NL) matched the clean-scoreboard energy in San Francisco. The Mets beat the Giants 9-0 at Oracle Park, with a huge pitching fantasy line from the bullpen arm highlighted in the tables and a strong outfield night at the plate. See the Mets recap.
Detroit brought offense at Comerica. The Tigers outscored St. Louis 11-6 in a game where both dugouts found runs but Detroit kept the loudest innings. Tigers recap.
Los Angeles (NL) won a road track meet in D.C. The Dodgers topped the Nationals 10-5, with pitching and outfield production both showing up on the AthX Engine board. Dodgers recap.
The Bronx stayed loud. The Yankees held off Miami 9-7 in a game where both teams kept pressing. Yankees recap.
Chicago (AL) defended home plate against Toronto. The White Sox won 6-3 behind a strong Miguel Vargas night. White Sox recap.
Pitching leaders spread across leagues. The table below includes arms who were not always attached to the biggest TV game of the night. That is intentional. The leaderboard should reflect who earned the top AthX Engine pitching fantasy totals on April 4, not only who played in the game you happened to stream.
Continuity. For the prior night’s board, open April 3. For Saturday’s column after this slate, use April 5, 2026.
