Pitchers and hitters earn points on different kinds of production. We publish **top 5 pitcher ranks** and **top 5 hitters** so the story matches how AthX Engine scores each role.

Why is Shohei Ohtani on the pitching table if he also hits?

Roster position in **daily_player_stats** can show **DH** on days he starts—but his **28 FP** here is his **pitching** line from that night (six innings on the mound). For this leaderboard we treat **two-way** starters like any other **SP** for the **arm** ladder so co-leaders stay visible.

How we built these leaderboards

We ranked hitters (everyone who is not treated as a pitcher for that day’s pitching line) against daily_player_stats for March 31, 2026. For pitchers, we start from the same table, but two-way players need one extra rule: Shohei Ohtani can appear under a DH (or hybrid) roster slot in raw exports even when he starts on the mound. A filter that only keeps SP / RP / P roster codes would accidentally drop his 28 pitching FP—so for this post we include his pitching row with the arm ladder (same 28 tied with Max Fried).
