Fried & Ohtani at 28 FP & AthX Top Hitters and Pitchers (March 31, 2026)

Max Fried Shohei Ohtani Hunter Brown and AthX Engine MLB daily fantasy points March 31 2026 at getathx.com

Quick takeaway

Tuesday, March 31, 2026 led with Max Fried and Shohei Ohtani tied at 28 AthX fantasy points on the pitching side—Fried with seven scoreless innings in Seattle (recap), Ohtani with six one-hit innings at home (recap). Oneil Cruz paced hitters at 21 after two home runs in Cincinnati. This post splits arms and bats so roles stay separate on the ladder (with Ohtani counted among arms for his mound work—see below).

For the prior night, see Top 10 AthX Players (March 30, 2026).

How we built these leaderboards

We ranked hitters (everyone who is not treated as a pitcher for that day’s pitching line) against daily_player_stats for March 31, 2026. For pitchers, we start from the same table, but two-way players need one extra rule: Shohei Ohtani can appear under a DH (or hybrid) roster slot in raw exports even when he starts on the mound. A filter that only keeps SP / RP / P roster codes would accidentally drop his 28 pitching FP—so for this post we include his pitching row with the arm ladder (same 28 tied with Max Fried). Everyone else in the pitcher table is a conventional SP in the data. Not a rest-of-season projection. For trading context, see dynamic pricing and understanding dividends.

Why we publish separate pitcher and hitter tables is explained once in the March 26 Top 10 post.

Pitcher spotlight

1 (tie). [Max Fried](/player/max-fried-85) (Yankees) — 28 FP

  • Traditional line: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 0 HR; game score 76 (box).
  • Game story: Five runs of support and a shutout in Seattle—Fried bounced back the lineup that had just walked off Monday (prior game).
  • 1 (tie). [Shohei Ohtani](/player/shohei-ohtani-31) (Dodgers) — 28 FP

  • Traditional line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, plus a HBP; game score 73 (box).
  • Why he belongs here: Same 28 FP as Fried, all from the pitching line—listed as P-DH in the ESPN lineup that night. Any DH at-bats are scored separately; they do not replace his starter total on the arm ladder.
  • 2. [Hunter Brown](/player/hunter-brown-1273) (Astros) — 24 FP

  • Traditional line: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K; game score 72 (box).
  • Game story: Dominated Boston’s lineup in a 9–2 home win—one hit allowed through six.
  • 3. [Brandon Woodruff](/player/brandon-woodruff-691) (Brewers) — 23 FP

  • Traditional line: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 2 HR allowed (box).
  • Game story: Milwaukee pulled away late (6–2) behind Woodruff’s five-inning start and a six-run bottom of the fifth.
  • 4–5. [Max Scherzer](/player/max-scherzer-1766) (Blue Jays) and [Logan Webb](/player/logan-webb-75) (Giants)

  • Scherzer: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K; game score 63 at Rogers Centre (box).
  • Webb: 6 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K; W in a 9–3 win at Petco (box).
  • Hitter spotlight

    1. [Oneil Cruz](/player/oneil-cruz-70) (Pirates) — 21 FP

  • Line: 3-for-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R in an 8–3 win (recap).
  • Why it stacks: Two long balls plus three runs scored is exactly the kind of multi-counting line AthX Engine rewards on the hitter side.
  • 2. [Corey Seager](/player/corey-seager-57) (Rangers) — 19 FP

  • Line: 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R in an 8–5 road win (recap).
  • Why it stacks: Shortstop power with two homers in one game moves AthX FP fast.
  • 3–5. [Danny Jansen](/player/danny-jansen-1699), [Yordan Alvarez](/player/yordan-alvarez-43), [Griffin Conine](/player/griffin-conine-625)

  • Jansen: Three-run homer in the seventh—catchers who clear the bases in leverage innings grade well under AthX Engine rules (box).
  • Alvarez: Home run and two RBI in Houston’s nine-run night (box).
  • Conine: Two-run shot in Miami’s 9–2 win (recap).
  • Ties, tiers, and how to read them

  • Pitchers — tied at the top (28 FP): Fried and Ohtani co-led—Fried with seven scoreless on the road, Ohtani with six one-hit innings at home.
  • Pitchers — next band (24–21 FP): Brown, Woodruff, Scherzer, and Webb all cleared 20 FP with quality starts or the equivalent in bulk innings.
  • Hitters — top tier (21–19 FP): Cruz and Seager both posted multi-homer lines.
  • Hitters — next tier (17–14 FP): Jansen, Alvarez, and Conine filled the board with extra-base damage.
  • What this means if you use AthX

Daily fantasy points tell you who won the box score under AthX Engine rules for one day. They do not replace season projections, and they do not predict the next session’s price. They do help you line up what you watched with what the platform stored.

If you trade shares, treat this as context, then layer dynamic pricing and your own read on matchups and health.
