Five finals on Friday. Two shutouts. One overtime. A Capitals debut that was 3-0 before the first intermission. AthX Engine (our projection and scoring system) scored the NHL boxes. The public daily skater board is live. The public daily team board is empty. The daily goalie board skipped Dylan Garand's shutout. The boxes still count.
Top team fantasy scores
AthX Engine team points pay a win, half-credit for an overtime loss, then goals for and against. A 5-2 road win jumps the board. A 2-0 shutout still pays. A 4-3 regulation loss barely clears the floor.
| Rank | Team | Score | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Washington Capitals | 5-2 at CAR | 21.00 |
| 2 | St. Louis Blues | 4-0 at DAL | 20.80 |
| 3 | Boston Bruins | 4-3 OT at WPG | 17.80 |
| 4 | Anaheim Ducks | 4-3 at VGK | 17.80 |
| 5 | New York Rangers | 2-0 at DET | 16.40 |
| 6 | Winnipeg Jets | 3-4 OT vs BOS | 8.60 |
| 7 | Vegas Golden Knights | 3-4 vs ANA | 2.60 |
| 8 | Detroit Red Wings | 0-2 vs NYR | 0.00 |
| 9 | Carolina Hurricanes | 2-5 vs WSH | 0.00 |
| 10 | Dallas Stars | 0-4 vs STL | 0.00 |
Washington and St. Louis are a rounding error apart. Five goals on the road beat a 4-0 shutout by 0.20 because the Capitals allowed two. Boston and Anaheim tie at 17.80: same goals for, same goals against, one needed overtime. Winnipeg is the only loser that got paid, the 6-point overtime-loss credit. Detroit, Carolina, and Dallas hit the floor.
Top skaters
C, W, and D only. Goalies have their own table.
| Rank | Player | Pos | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Kyle Connor | W | WPG | 13.40 |
| 2 | Alex Tuch | W | WSH | 10.30 |
| 3 | Jimmy Snuggerud | W | STL | 9.40 |
| 4 | Pius Suter | C | STL | 8.90 |
| 5 | Jakob Chychrun | D | WSH | 8.80 |
| 6 | Tomas Hertl | C | VGK | 8.50 |
| 7 | David Pastrnak | W | BOS | 7.90 |
| 8 | Leo Carlsson | C | ANA | 7.60 |
| 9 | JJ Peterka | W | BOS | 7.50 |
| 10 | Shea Theodore | D | VGK | 7.40 |
Connor's 13.40 is a power-play goal, an assist, nine shots, and two blocks in an overtime loss. That is the card being honest: volume still pays when the extra point goes the other way. Tuch scored twice in a first game as a Capital. Snuggerud and Suter each had a goal and an assist in Dallas, including empty-netters 15 seconds apart. Pastrnak did not score and still sits seventh on two late assists. Peterka scored the overtime winner and sits ninth. Hertl and Theodore both scored in a Vegas comeback that stopped at 4-3.
Top goalies
Win, 0.4 per save, minus 1.2 per goal against, plus 2 for a shutout, plus 0.5 for an overtime loss. Garand and Carter Hart are scored from the NHL box. They did not appear on the public daily goalie board.
| Rank | Player | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Joel Hofer | STL | 15.00 |
| 2 | Dylan Garand | NYR | 13.80 |
| 3 | Logan Thompson | WSH | 13.00 |
| 4 | Jeremy Swayman | BOS | 11.40 |
| 5 | Lukas Dostal | ANA | 10.20 |
| 6 | John Gibson | DET | 6.40 |
| 7 | Stuart Skinner | WPG | 6.10 |
| 8 | Jake Oettinger | DAL | 5.60 |
| 9 | Brandon Bussi | CAR | 2.80 |
| 10 | Carter Hart | VGK | 1.60 |
Hofer's 25-save shutout is the night. Garand's 22-save shutout in Detroit is the next line even if the public board missed him. Thompson won with 31 saves. Swayman won in overtime. Dostal survived 4-0 turning into 4-3. Gibson stopped 19 of 20 and lost anyway.

All five Friday finals:
What stood out
Three things.
First, the crease owned the player board. Hofer 15.00 and Garand 13.80 sit above every skater except Connor, and Connor needed nine shots to get there. Friday was a goalie night that still had two 4-3 games.
Second, Washington's opener is the team board. Tuch twice, Chychrun a power-play goal and an assist, Thompson 31 saves. Carolina, the Cup champ, is 0-1-1 after two home games and floors at 0 AthX Engine team points.
Third, Connor can lead the skater board and still lose. Winnipeg got the overtime-loss credit. Boston got Peterka at 3:21 and the two points. That split is the sport, not a rounding trick.
