Bruins 4, Jets 3 (OT): Peterka Wins It After Lindholm's Late Tip

October 2, 2026 - Winnipeg - Kyle Connor had a goal, an assist, nine shots, and two blocks. He still walked off an overtime loser. That is the kind of night Friday was in Canada Life Centre: Winnipeg did more of the shooting, Boston took the extra point.

The Boston Bruins beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in overtime. Boston is 2-0-0. Winnipeg is 0-0-1. JJ Peterka ended it at 3:21 of OT. Elias Lindholm had forced the extra session with a tip at 18:22 of the third.

Jeremy Swayman stopped 30 of 33 in 62:25. Stuart Skinner stopped 26 of 30 in 63:21 and took the overtime loss. Shots finished 33-30 Winnipeg. Attendance was 15,209.

2-1 Boston, then Connor, then Ferraro at 19:52

Dylan DeMelo opened it at 4:52 of the first, a slap shot from Morgan Barron and Adam Lowry. 1-0 Jets.

Hampus Lindholm answered at 9:23, slap shot, Morgan Geekie and Will Borgen. 1-1. James Hagens (unseeded on AthX) scored at 15:20 from Nikita Zadorov and Mark Kastelic. 2-1 Bruins after one.

Winnipeg's power play tied it at 1:50 of the second. Connor, snap shot, Gabriel Vilardi and Cole Perfetti. Then, with eight seconds left in the period, Mario Ferraro beat Swayman from Lowry and Connor. 3-2 Jets. The building had the lead it wanted into the third.

Boston spent most of the third hunting. ESPN's play-by-play has the Bruins generating chances that Skinner kept eating: Peterka wrists, Elias Lindholm slaps, Pastrnak wrap-arounds that missed. David Pastrnak found Elias Lindholm at 18:22. Tip-in. Mason Lohrei the other helper. 3-3. Boston took a timeout. Overtime followed.

The first period also had a fight. Mark Kastelic and Tyrel Bauer took matching fives at 7:08. Boston took a first-period cross-check at 2:24, before DeMelo scored. Elias Lindholm's tripping minor at 1:34 of the second sat 16 seconds before Connor's power-play goal. Winnipeg took a tripping minor at 16:05 of the second and still scored Ferraro's go-ahead goal at 19:52, even strength. Peterka at 3:21, Pastrnak on both late assists
