Fourteen runs, eight innings of scoring, zero answers
July 28, 2026 – Detroit – Eduardo Valencia took his first swing after a Triple-A recall and sent Dean Kremer’s sinker 416 feet to left.
By the eighth, he’d gone deep twice, finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs, and helped the Detroit Tigers do something rare: score in every inning they batted. Troy Melton (6-1) threw seven shutout innings. And Detroit blanked the Baltimore Orioles 14-0, per the Associated Press.
Colt Keith’s two-run triple opened the first. Gleyber Torres piled five RBIs with a double and a homer. Kevin McGonigle reached five times. Melton allowed three hits, walked two, struck out five, and never let a runner past first. Ty Madden finished the shutout.
Detroit filled every column

Detroit snapped a three-game skid and lowered Melton’s ERA to 1.75. Baltimore left Comerica with three hits and a position-player inning. Valencia and Melton led the AthX Engine scores.
