Rams 28, Giants 6: Adams to 195 After Nacua Sits

September 21, 2026 - Inglewood - Puka Nacua was inactive with a hip. Davante Adams had told people not to overreact to a seven-point opener in Australia. Then he caught eight for 195 and two scores, and the Los Angeles Rams beat the New York Giants 28-6 on Monday night at SoFi Stadium.

Los Angeles is 1-1. New York is 1-1. Matthew Stafford was 22 of 31 for 327 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Adams's 195 yards were his fourth-most in a regular-season game and 13 more than the Giants' whole offense, the Los Angeles Times wrote. The Rams said he moved into 23rd on the NFL's career receiving-yard list at 12,854.

Jaxson Dart lasted one drive. Two defenders hit him. Knee. Questionable, then out at the half, the Giants said. He completed 3 of 5 for 20 yards. Jameis Winston threw the rest of the night.

7-0 as Dart leaves, 14-0 before the Giants kick

The first quarter stayed empty until 11 seconds left. Stafford hit Adams from 31. 7-0. That was also when Dart and Malik Nabers went down. Nabers hurt a shoulder on a Trent McDuffie breakup, sat, then returned in the second quarter.

Stafford found Kyren Williams from 10 early in the second. 14-0. McDuffie intercepted Winston on a deep ball for Nabers with 6:11 left in the half, his first pick as a Ram, the club said. He also had four passes defensed, a career high. Stafford gave it right back. Jevon Holland intercepted a deep shot for Adams.

Holland was not done. He punched the ball out of Williams and recovered at the Rams 11 with 2:51 left in the half. Aaron Donald stuffed a third-down run. Dominic Zvada made 24. 14-3. Stafford still had 25 seconds. He hit Adams for 27. Harrison Mevis missed 43 wide left as the half expired.

Fade from 11, Ferguson from 5

Adams's second score was an 11-yard fade with 6:21 left in the third. 21-3. He wanted a third. A 64-yard catch died at the Giants 14. "I wish I would score on that other one," he said, laughing, in the Rams' feature. Seven of his eight catches went for 10-plus. Four went for 20-plus.

Zvada answered from 52. 21-6. Stafford's fourth touchdown went to Terrance Ferguson from 5 with 8:57 left. 28-6. Holland forced another fumble on Blake Corum in the fourth. Corum recovered. The Giants reached the Rams 35 and failed on fourth-and-10 with 6:17 left. That was the last threat.

Winston finished 11 of 27 for 111 yards and the McDuffie pick. He was sacked twice. The Rams had eight quarterback hits and 10 passes defensed, the Giants said. New York rushed for 52 yards. A week after 165 on the ground against Dallas, ESPN wrote, the Giants got 2.5 yards per carry.

A Hall of Fame night next to a knee on the grass

Williams ran 12 times for 85 and caught two for 12 and the score. Corum added 12 for 79. Ferguson caught six for 54 and the closer. Nate Landman and Byron Young showed on the tackle sheet. Young's sack is on the weekly line. Donald's season debut was three tackles and that third-down stop, the Rams said. Jordan Whittington sat with a quad. Nacua sat with the hip.

Adams had 26 yards and no scores in Week 1. This was the answer he promised. Next Gen Stats, via ESPN, had him with 143 yards and a touchdown on throws where Tyler Nubin was the nearest defender. The Giants listed Andrew Thomas (groin) and Brian Burns (ankle) among later injuries. They went home to host Tennessee on a short week, already talking about Dart's knee.

Stafford's four scores went to Adams twice, Williams, and Ferguson. Mevis's miss at the half was the only kick that leaked. Zvada made 24 and 52 and still left SoFi with six points. Winston's 111 yards on 27 attempts is what a backup night looks like against a front that just got Donald back.

The Rams had looked small in Melbourne. They did not look small with Adams running through a depleted secondary and Stafford throwing four scores. New York's 1-1 record still had a win over Dallas. It also had a Monday night that ended 28-6 and a quarterback on the injury report.
