Golden Knights 6, Kraken 2: Hertl and Eichel Stack Four Each

October 6, 2026 - Seattle - Victor Olofsson was already on his way down when Rasmus Andersson's slap shot from the right point hit his stick and went past Joey Daccord's right pad. Climate Pledge Arena had a 1-0 game at 13:02 of the first. It did not stay close.

The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Seattle Kraken 6-2. Vegas is 3-1-0 after winning both games of a two-game road trip. Seattle is 2-2-0 after a 6-1 win over Calgary on Sunday. Shots were 28-27 Vegas. Attendance was 17,151.

Tomas Hertl finished with two goals and two assists. Jack Eichel had a goal and three assists. The NHL recap called it four points each. Carter Hart stopped 25 of 27. Hart is not seeded on AthX player pages, so the name stays unlinked. The saves still count.

Five before Seattle got one

Hertl made it 2-0 at 15:58 of the first on the power play. Eichel found him at the top of the crease. Hertl one-timed it under Daccord's glove.

Mark Stone scored short-handed at 1:43 of the second. The NHL recap said Brandon Montour's stick broke on a slap shot, Eichel took the puck, and Stone one-timed it from the left circle off Daccord's pad. 3-0.

Olofsson's second came at 13:07. Daccord deflected Hertl's centering feed onto Olofsson's stick in the slot. Off the left post and in. 4-0. Eichel scored on a breakaway at 19:29. 5-0 after two. Seattle pulled Daccord. He had allowed five on 21 shots, matching the NHL box (16 saves, five goals against). Philipp Grubauer made six saves in the third.

A boarding major, then two late Seattle goals

Shane Wright cut it to 5-1 at 4:52 of the third from Kaapo Kakko and Cale Fleury. Fleury is not seeded. Kakko had two assists.

Olofsson left at 8:03 of the third after Ben Meyers hit him into the boards. The NHL recap said Meyers got a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding. Meyers is not seeded. Vegas coach Ryan Craig told NHL.com Olofsson was being evaluated. Hertl, in the same recap: "It's tough to see 'Oley' going down."

Hertl scored again on the power play at 9:43, waiting out Grubauer at the goal line from Ivan Barbashev and Eichel. 6-1. Jared McCann answered on the power play at 15:00 from Jordan Eberle and Kakko. 6-2.

Stone reached 400 points with Vegas, the NHL recap said, the third player to do it after Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson. Eichel reached 10 points in four games. Seattle defenseman Ryan Lindgren left with an upper-body injury after the first period. Coach Lane Lambert had no update.

Toronto visits Vegas on Thursday. Carolina hosts Vancouver that night.

Fantasy points measure the box. Price is what traders will pay for a Golden Knights group that finally buried its chances, and for a Kraken club that got run in its own building a night after a 6-1. They are not the same number.
