Two hits for Seattle. Seven runs for San Francisco.
July 17, 2026 – Seattle – Landen Roupp took a no-hitter into the fourth and never really let the Mariners breathe.
Landen Roupp worked seven scoreless innings on two hits. Bryce Eldridge went deep. Willy Adames cleared the bases with a grand slam. And the San Francisco Giants blanked the Seattle Mariners 7-0 to open the second half, per team and wire coverage.
Jason Foley and Caleb Kilian finished the two-hit shutout. Bryce Miller (took the L) never found a clean escape hatch.
Eldridge wakes it up, Adames ends it
Scoreless into the fifth. Then Eldridge's two-run shot to center made it 2-0. An error helped plate a third in the sixth. The seventh was the dagger: Adames, bases loaded, grand slam to right-center off Nick Davila for 7-0.
Jung Hoo Lee had three hits. Heliot Ramos and Casey Schmitt set tables. Drew Cavanaugh caught Roupp's night and got on base twice. For a Giants club hunting its sixth three-game win streak of the year, this was the clean version.
Roupp's quiet dominance
Seven innings. Two hits. Three walks. Two strikeouts. 97 pitches. Not a strikeout carnival. A contact manager who kept Seattle's best bats on the ground. After a strong outing against Toronto earlier in July, this was the road sequel. Miller lasted into the sixth before the bullpen inherited a mess it could not freeze.
AthX Engine angle
Roupp's 22 pitching FP ranked among Friday's top arms. Giants 17 team FP put San Francisco fifth on the team board. Shutouts travel well on AthX Engine nights; share prices still filter through dynamic pricing.
What comes next
Seattle wanted a series statement at home. San Francisco left with a shutout and a grand slam memory. The rest of the set decides whether Friday was a blip or a tone shift.
