Dodgers 6, Mariners 2: Rushing's Three-Run Homers Carry Los Angeles

Betts opened it. Rushing finished the first punch

July 30, 2026, Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles: Tommy Edman and Andy Pages reached in the first. Mookie Betts doubled them both home. Three innings later, Dalton Rushing cleared the bases with a three-run homer to right.

That was the night in two swings. Seattle chased. Los Angeles answered. The gap never closed.

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Seattle Mariners 6-2. Roki Sasaki earned the win. Bryan Woo took the loss. Los Angeles improved to 69-40. Seattle fell to 53-57.

Sasaki survived runners on base and still got the ball to the bullpen

Sasaki did not throw a clean start. He allowed five hits, walked three, and needed 90 pitches to get through 5 1/3. He also struck out seven and left with a 5-2 lead.

Seattle's only damage came in the sixth. Cole Young reached. Randy Arozarena doubled him home. After Dominic Canzone and Josh Naylor reached, Cal Raleigh walked to force in another run. That cut the deficit to 5-2 and ended Sasaki's night.

Jack Dreyer cleaned up the rest of the sixth without allowing another run. Edgardo Henríquez, Tanner Scott, and Edwin Díaz finished the last three frames. Seattle put runners on in the late innings and never tied it.

The bullpen allowed three hits and no runs after Sasaki left. That is how a messy sixth became a footnote instead of a collapse.

Woo struck out eight and still left down five

Woo's line looked better than the scoreboard. He struck out eight over five innings. He also allowed five hits, two walks, and five earned runs on 91 pitches.

The first inning set the tone. Edman and Pages reached. Betts drove a sharp double to left, and Arozarena could not cut either runner down. Los Angeles led 2-0 before Woo recorded the third out.

The fourth decided the start. Kyle Tucker and Teoscar Hernández reached. Rushing then drove a fly ball 400 feet to right for his 12th homer. Tucker and Hernández scored ahead of him. The Dodgers led 5-0, and Woo's strikeout total no longer mattered.

Alex Hoppe relieved and allowed Hernández's sixth-inning solo shot to center. Cole Wilcox closed the eighth. Seattle's pitching was never the problem alone. The early deficit was.

Hernández and Rushing gave Los Angeles the middle of the order it needed

Rushing finished 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Hernández went 2-for-3 with a homer, a run, and an RBI. Betts added two hits and both first-inning RBIs. Pages had two hits and scored once.

Tucker scored on Rushing's homer and did not need a big counting line to change the game. Edman's first-inning run started the night. The Dodgers finished with eight hits and one error.

Seattle had eight hits of its own. Arozarena went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Young and Naylor each had two hits. Raleigh drove in a run on the bases-loaded walk and finished 0-for-3.

The difference was sequence. Los Angeles scored two in the first and three in the fourth. Seattle's only rally came after it already trailed by five.

AthX Engine had Los Angeles alone at the top of the slate

AthX Engine, AthX's projection and scoring system, gave the Dodgers 13 team fantasy points (FP), the highest team total on July 30. Hernández led Los Angeles hitters with nine hitting FP. Sasaki scored 12.33 pitching FP.

Those numbers measure what happened on the field under AthX Engine scoring. Dynamic pricing also accounts for market activity and other price inputs. A strong team night can matter without matching share-price movement one for one.

Los Angeles keeps rolling. Seattle keeps searching

The Dodgers took another home win and kept the National League's best record within reach. Sasaki improved to 5-5. The bullpen protected a lead that looked safe after Rushing's swing and briefly looked soft after Raleigh's walk.

Seattle dropped another road game and fell further behind in the American League West race. Woo fell to 7-8 despite eight strikeouts. Arozarena gave the lineup a pulse. The rest of the night belonged to Los Angeles.
