One October game. Six runs in the sixth. Game 5 on Saturday.
October 8, 2026 was ALDS Game 4, and it was the only game on the board. The Cleveland Guardians scored 9, allowed 5, and sent the Chicago White Sox to a winner-take-all Saturday in Cleveland. Patrick Bailey pinch-hit a homer. José Ramírez hit a 99.9 mph fastball into the bullpen. Ten batters came up in the sixth.
That is the board: Cleveland first at 16 team FP, Chicago second at 0. Shawn Armstrong sat first among pitchers at 7.66. Miguel Vargas sat first among hitters at 12 in a loss.
Top team fantasy scores (Thursday, October 8, 2026)
| Rank | Team | AthX Engine FP | Final | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cleveland Guardians | 16 | 9-5 | Guardians vs White Sox |
| 2 | Chicago White Sox | 0 | 5-9 | Vargas 12 hitting FP; Taylor 0 IP, 4 ER (ESPN) |
Cleveland sits first because a 9-5 fills a team table: a win, nine runs, five against. Chicago is second because there was no third club. Thursday was not a six-game card. It was one night at Rate Field.

| 10 | Tim Herrin | Guardians | -1.67 | 0.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 1 BB, BS |
Armstrong sat first because 1 2/3 scoreless innings still own a one-game card. Hudson sat second on the same length after the sixth had already ended. Sabrowski and Davis sat together at 5: a win inning and two clean innings. Grant Taylor faced six, recorded none, and sat at -14, off this cut. The ranking is every arm who threw on a one-game card, minus the outing that turned 4-4 into 9-4.

| 9 | Jo Adell | DH | Guardians | 3 | 1-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 SO |
Vargas took the hitter board on a homer, three walks, and a steal in a loss. Ramírez sat second because a two-run homer and an RBI single still trail a 12. Bailey sat third after entering in the fifth. Kwan, Murakami, and Meidroth sat together at 5. Adell's two-run single capped the sixth and sat at 3. Pitchers were kept off this table. The hitter board is for bats.
One featured game from Thursday
What stood out
The team board belonged to the club that scored nine and allowed five. There was no second game to compare it with. A 9-5 is a better table than a 5-9. It is also the whole slate.
The pitcher board belonged to a middle reliever with 1 2/3 zeros, not the win or the first career relief outing. Williams closed and sat sixth. Taylor's zero-out sixth sat at the bottom of the staff and off this list.
The hitter board belonged to Vargas in a loss. Ramírez and Bailey homered Cleveland back into a series and still sat behind a 12. That is the version of Thursday the recap followed: the only game on the card, no invented sixth recap.
What now?
Thursday's AthX Engine scores are a record of Game 4. The series is tied 2-2. Game 5 is Saturday in Cleveland. Use the board to compare nights, then check roles and news before you treat any number as more than production.
