AthX NHL Top 10: Lafrenière and Hertl at 16.30, Nine Finals

Nine finals on Tuesday. Two went to overtime. One hat trick at the Garden. A 3-0 hole in Toronto that flipped with 14 seconds left. AthX Engine (our projection and scoring system) scored the NHL boxes. Six games are recapped below. The other three finals are on the scoreboards. We did not invent extra recaps to fill a slot.

Top team fantasy scores

AthX Engine team points pay a win, half-credit for an overtime loss, then goals for and against. A 6-2 jumps the board. A 5-4 overtime win still pays. Regulation losses that get outscored hard floor at 0.

Vegas is the club night. Carolina and the Rangers sit behind on 6-4 and 5-2. Detroit and Utah are the same 5-3 winner math. Toronto's overtime win is sixth. Chicago missed the recap cut by 0.20 team points. Nashville keeps 9.80 on the overtime-loss card.

Top skaters

C, W, and D only. Goalies have their own table. Carter Hart won in Seattle and is not seeded, so that name stays unlinked in the recap. Calum Ritchie scored for the Islanders and is unlinked too.

Lafrenière's 16.30 is a hat trick, an assist, and two empty-netters at the Garden. Hertl matches it on two power-play goals, two assists, and a 6-2 in Seattle. Matthews is the overtime winner plus three assists after Toronto trailed 3-0. Thompson's 12.40 came in Buffalo's 3-2 overtime win, a final we did not recap. Stamkos, Aho, and Bolduc tied at 10.80.

Top goalies

Win, 0.4 per save, minus 1.2 per goal against, plus 2 for a shutout, plus 0.5 for an overtime loss. Hart is unlinked. Connor Ellis won in Buffalo and is not seeded.

Vejmelka's 30 saves in a 5-3 at New Jersey lead the crease. Knight's 26-save 4-2 is the goalie gem just outside the six recaps (Chicago 18.80 team FP, 0.20 behind Toronto). Hart's 10.60 is a win on 25 saves in the 6-2. Markstrom's 9.40 is a 2-1 at Los Angeles we did not recap. Saros keeps 7.30 on the overtime loss in Toronto.

Featured games

Tuesday had nine finals. These six had the highest AthX Engine team scores. Chicago's 4-2 sat 0.20 behind Toronto and is not recapped here.

  • Golden Knights 6, Kraken 2
  • Hurricanes 6, Canadiens 4
  • Rangers 5, Islanders 2
  • Red Wings 5, Senators 3
  • Mammoth 5, Devils 3
  • Maple Leafs 5, Predators 4 (OT)
  • Buffalo 3-2 in overtime over Minnesota, Chicago 4-2 over St. Louis, and Florida 2-1 at Los Angeles are on the NHL.com scoreboard and the ESPN NHL scoreboard.

    What stood out

    Three things.

First, the skater board had a tie at the top that did not look like the same job. Lafrenière needed two empty-netters to get to 16.30. Hertl got there with two power-play goals in a 5-0 game through two periods.

Second, Toronto's 19.00 is an overtime comeback from 3-0, not a blowout card. Matthews 14.40. McKenna's first NHL goal. Stamkos still 10.80 on the losing side.

Third, the crease behind the recap cut was loud. Knight 11.00. Vejmelka 11.40 inside the pack. Hart 10.60 unlinked. A 26-save 4-2 in Chicago did not make the six because the Leafs' overtime win paid 19.00.

Track the board on the marketplace. Fantasy points measure the box. Price is what traders will pay. They are not the same number.
