A three-run double that flipped the ace
July 20, 2026 – Arlington – Jacob deGrom owned Andrew Benintendi for a decade of at-bats. Until the fifth inning Monday.
Benintendi ripped a two-out, go-ahead three-run double to right on a 2-2 pitch, chasing deGrom and flipping the night. The Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 10-3, per the Associated Press.

deGrom lasts 4 2/3
Joc Pederson's 17th homer on Erick Fedde's fourth pitch put Texas ahead early. Chicago answered. Benintendi had been hitless in 10 career at-bats against deGrom before the double that made it 5-2.
deGrom (7-6) finished with five runs on seven hits in 4 2/3. Fedde struck out six over four. Chris Murphy (3-0) worked a scoreless 1 1/3 for the win. Catcher Kyle Teel's night ended with injury concern; Will Venable said an IL stint was likely.
