Steelers 26, Buccaneers 19: Bernard From 6 After Dean Comes Home

October 18, 2026 - Tampa - Jamel Dean had told himself it would be ironic to pick six the Buccaneers in this building. His last pick-six was here a year ago, in the other colors. On Sunday he jumped Emeka Egbuka, ran 40 yards to the 3, and wished he had dived for the plane. Chris Boswell made 20 instead. That was enough to put Pittsburgh in front, and overtime finished what Dean started.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-19 in overtime at Raymond James Stadium. Pittsburgh is 4-2. Tampa Bay is 1-5. Germie Bernard caught the winner from 6 with 3:15 left in the extra period. Jalen Ramsey sacked Jalon Daniels on fourth-and-8 with 1:06 remaining.

Aaron Rodgers went 33 of 49 for 253 yards, two scores, and one pick. Daniels was 22 of 43 for 164, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

16-3 after three, then the fourth opened

Chase McLaughlin made 43 in the first. Eight plays and 60 yards later, Daniels hit Egbuka from 2, eight seconds into the second quarter. 10-0. Boswell missed 48 wide left on a windy afternoon by the bay, the Steelers wrote. McLaughlin and Boswell traded field goals before the half. 13-3. A'Shawn Robinson, 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, intercepted a Yaya Diaby tip that Darnell Washington could not gather.

Tampa Bay's defense had held Pittsburgh to 144 yards, eight first downs, and two third-down conversions through three quarters, the Buccaneers wrote, and owned the only takeaway to that point. McLaughlin added another field goal. 16-3 heading to the fourth.

Rodgers then went 68 yards in eight plays. Washington from 5. 16-10, 13:48 left. Daylen Everette, the rookie who spelled Dean on an early series, intercepted Daniels on third-and-7 intended for Egbuka. Boswell knocked through a short one. Another Daniels mistake, another Boswell kick. The Steelers said Boswell made three field goals in the fourth, including 58 yards to tie it at 16 with 1:58 left. nflverse lists his makes at 52, 39, 58, and 20, with a miss from 48. Dean to the 3, McLaughlin from 53, Bernard from 6

Dean was questionable with an ankle. Mike McCarthy made him a captain for the week. The plan was two series, then a decision. He stayed. With 1:21 left he picked Daniels and nearly scored. Boswell from 20. 19-16.

McLaughlin answered from 53 with eight seconds left. 19-19. Tampa Bay won the overtime toss and kicked. Rodgers covered 70 yards in 12 plays and 6:45. Bernard extended for 6. First NFL touchdown. First rookie in Steelers history with 10-plus catches, 80-plus yards, and a score in the same game, the club wrote. He had 11 for 87 on 12 targets. He also had the first-quarter gaffe on fourth-and-3, catching it past the marker and losing yards trying to do more.

Daniels tried to match. Ramsey came off the edge on fourth-and-8. Daniels said he tried to make him miss and that Ramsey wrapped him up. Game.

Metcalf 11 for 93 after a quiet half

DK Metcalf caught 11 for 93. The Steelers said he had two for 12 at halftime and nine for 71 in the fourth and overtime. Jaylen Warren ran 14 times for 50. Rico Dowdle added seven for 40. Pittsburgh passed for 253 and ran for 89. Tampa Bay had 164 through the air and 102 on the ground. Bucky Irving ran 19 times for 46. Egbuka caught seven for 48 and the first-half score.

Ramsey finished with 10 tackles and two sacks, including the overtime closer and a 15-yarder on the Bucs' first series. Nick Herbig also had two sacks. Yahya Black had one. Dean had six passes defensed, the Steelers wrote, and the interception. Everette had the other pick, the first of his NFL career. David Walker had two sacks for Tampa Bay.

Rodgers' winning throw tied him with Peyton Manning for third most regular-season touchdown passes in NFL history at 539, the Steelers said. It was his fourth career win when trailing by 13 or more entering the fourth, and Pittsburgh's first such win since 1992, NFL Research wrote.

Tampa Bay visits Carolina next week. Pittsburgh goes to Paris to play the Saints.
