Seahawks 20, Chiefs 3: JSN for 150, Kansas City's First Loss

October 25, 2026 - Seattle - Kenneth Walker III came home. The Seattle Seahawks held him to 36 yards on 14 carries and held the rest of Kansas City to a 50-yard field goal.

Seattle beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 at Lumen Field. The Seahawks are 4-3 after two straight losses. The Chiefs are 5-1, their first defeat. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught nine for 150 and a 28-yard score. Patrick Mahomes went 19 of 33 for 165, no touchdowns, one interception, one sack. Attendance was 68,740.

The Seahawks said Kansas City finished with 213 yards, 11 first downs, and zero red-zone trips, franchise lows with Mahomes as the starter, and that 3 points matched the fewest in a Mahomes start. Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, cited by the club, had it as just the fifth time (playoffs included) the Chiefs were shut out in a first half with Mahomes.

15 plays for 3, then JSN inside the pylon

Neither club scored in the first. Seattle's answer covered 86 yards in 15 plays and still settled. Jason Myers made 25. 3-0, 8:22 of the second. The Seahawks said that drive included conversions on third-and-9 twice and third-and-7.

Ten more plays, 66 yards. Sam Darnold scrambled on third-and-6, then hit Smith-Njigba from 28 on third-and-9. NFL.com called it a toe-drag past Mansoor Delane inside the left pylon. 10-0, 1:44 left in the half. Smith-Njigba had eight touches for 142 yards by the break, the league site wrote, against 96 total yards for Kansas City.

Darnold still threw the ball into a crowded end zone before the half. Nohl Williams intercepted it and returned it 64 yards, ESPN's highlight list shows. The Chiefs did not score off it.

Myers made 35 after 13 plays in the third. 13-0. Harrison Butker finally put Kansas City on the board from 50. 13-3. He missed from 58 and 45. nflverse has the make at 50 and those two misses. NFL.com said he has now missed in four games this season.

Wilson from 21, and the lights stayed out

Emanuel Wilson scored from 21 with 3:47 left. 20-3. He ran 24 times for 100 and that score and caught one for 15. Darnold finished 20 of 28 for 257, one touchdown, one pick, no sacks, and 17 rushing yards on two carries. AJ Barner caught four for 42. Cooper Kupp had two for 20.

Walker added four catches for 21. Travis Kelce caught four of eight for 44, which NFL Research said moved him past Cris Carter (1,101) and Marvin Harrison Sr. (1,102) to 1,104 career receptions, fifth all time. Xavier Worthy had three for 11. Noah Gray caught three for 44. Seattle ran 69 plays to Kansas City's 50 and punted twice. The Seahawks said they were 9 of 11 on third down at one point in the third quarter, including several third-and-long conversions, and still left points in the red zone. Darnold's interception targeting Smith-Njigba or Rashid Shaheed in the back of the end zone was the mistake that kept it from being a blowout at the half. Nick Emmanwori's hit helped produce the Okada pick, the club wrote.

Seattle had 410 yards, 24 first downs, 11 of 16 on third down, and 35:51 of possession, the Seahawks and Chiefs game centers both list. Kansas City went 3 of 11 on third down. Ty Okada intercepted Mahomes. Derick Hall had the sack. Next Gen Stats had Mahomes pressured 14 times (38.9%) and 6 of 13 for 44 yards under pressure.

Ernest Jones IV told the club the goal was simple. "Shut you down, shut your lights out." Smith-Njigba pointed at the defense first. "They're the best in the world and they prove it." Mike Macdonald, in the locker room, called it 12 as One football.

The Seahawks have now gone 36 straight games, postseason included, without allowing a 100-yard rusher, the club wrote. Walker entered as the league's leading rusher at 665 yards and 6.3 per carry through five games. Mahomes is 4-4 in his career, playoffs included, against No. 1 total defenses, NFL.com wrote, and has lost three straight in those games after Houston last season and Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX. George Holani ran five times for 11. Velus Jones Jr. had five for 8. Myers made 25 and 35 and both extra points.
