The lead
June 16, 2026 - Philadelphia - Brandon Marsh, Alec Bohm, and Kyle Schwarber homered, Jesús Luzardo pitched seven strong innings with 21 pitching FP in AthX Engine scoring, and the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Miami Marlins 8-2, per the Associated Press recap on CBS Sports.
Philadelphia finished with 17 team FP on the Tuesday card.
How the game turned
In a matchup of starters facing their former teams, Luzardo (6-4) did not allow a hit until the fifth and yielded only two runs and five hits while striking out nine. Tyler Phillips (1-2) gave up all three Phillies homers and eight runs in four innings.
Marsh hit his ninth homer of the season, a two-run shot in the second, for his fourth consecutive home game with a homer at Citizens Bank Park. Bohm crushed a 447-foot drive to left-center for his ninth of the year.
Schwarber reclaimed the major league home run lead with his 25th off Phillips in the fourth — the ninth time in his career he has reached 25 homers in a season.
Pitching and matchup notes
Luzardo's 21 FP start carried most of Philadelphia's daily value. Esteury Ruiz provided Miami's only runs with a two-run homer in the seventh.
It was the first time the Marlins lost consecutive games in June. Philadelphia improved to 30-14 under interim manager Don Mattingly.
Bats that changed the board
Marsh and Bohm each finished with 10 hitting FP in AthX Engine scoring. Schwarber added 8 FP as the Phillies graded at 17 team FP.
AthX Engine fantasy angle
AthX Engine rewards former-team revenge games when the starter works seven and three hitters go deep. Luzardo's line registers fifth on the daily pitching board, separate from dynamic pricing.
What comes next
The Phillies and Marlins played the series finale Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park, per the MLB schedule.
