Six runs before the Yankees got on the board
July 26, 2026 – Philadelphia – Bryson Stott spent Sunday night inventing ways to drive in runs.
A solo homer in the second. An RBI single in the third. A three-run double in the sixth. Five RBIs total, three hits. Cristopher Sánchez (13-4) worked six innings for the win. And the Philadelphia Phillies beat the New York Yankees 11-4 to avoid a three-game sweep, per the Associated Press.
Philadelphia led 6-0 after three. Will Warren (7-5) never settled. Alec Bohm’s bases-loaded double in the third made it 5-0; Stott’s single scored Bohm for six. New York scratched three across in the fifth after a pickoff throw got away, then Ben Rice’s solo shot made it 11-4 in the seventh. By then the sixth-inning five-run answer had already closed the argument.
Stott carried Philadelphia’s score
