The Marlins strung five hits in the ninth. Heriberto Hernández tied it with a two-run single. Griffin Conine punched a walk-off single over a drawn-in infield. And the Miami Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 8-7 to end a franchise-record 12-game skid, per the Associated Press.

Miami had not won since July 9. Hernández and Conine had already homered off Zack Wheeler while building a 5-2 cushion. Philadelphia answered with five in the sixth and one in the eighth. Bryce Harper’s early two-run shot and late RBI work put the Phillies ahead. Then the ninth flipped everything.
