Falcons 35, Packers 14: Robinson and London Own Lambeau

September 24, 2026 - Green Bay - Christian Watson came uncovered on play-action, Jordan Love dumped it from four yards, and Lambeau sounded like a home opener. It was 7-0. It was also the last time Green Bay led.

The Atlanta Falcons scored the next 27 points and beat the Green Bay Packers 35-14. Atlanta is 1-2. Green Bay is 1-2. The Packers' streak of 13 straight wins in home openers ended on a Thursday night when they rushed for 17 yards.

Michael Penix Jr. started for the first time since last November's ACL surgery. Xavier McKinney intercepted his first drive. Penix then went 17 of 20 for 239 yards and a touchdown. Tua Tagovailoa, Atlanta's other quarterback and a Falcon this season, was available. Penix kept the job.

194 and 194, and a blocked kick that mattered

Bijan Robinson ran 29 times for 194. He had a 55-yarder with three minutes left in the first quarter, a 31-yard cut later, and two short scores. He had 111 rushing yards and a touchdown before halftime. The Falcons finished with 242 on the ground and three rushing touchdowns. Brian Robinson Jr. added 10 carries for 50 and a 7-yard score, his first as a Falcon, that made it 23-7.

Drake London caught nine for 194, including 68 and 40. The Falcons say it is the third time Robinson has gone over 150 rushing yards in the same game London has gone over 150 receiving. No other pair of teammates has done that three times.

The swing before the half was a kick. Green Bay had the game in front of it at 10-7 and lined up from 44. Zach Harrison blocked Trey Smack. Penix hit London for 20, then 16. Robinson moved it inside the 5. On third-and-goal, Tommy Rees sent London and Kyle Pitts right, motioned Robinson that way, and Penix turned left to Austin Hooper. 17-7 at the break. Atlanta had scored 16 points in the first two weeks combined.

Love finished 28 of 53 for 312 yards, two scores, and one interception. Watson caught seven for 96 and the opener. Matthew Golden had five for 100 and a 15-yard slant that cut it to 27-14 with 8:18 left. Then London went 40. Robinson punched in from 2. Chris Blair converted the two-point try. 35-14, 3:33 remaining. Xavier Watts picked Love on the last real Green Bay drive.

Seventeen yards, 53 throws

Matt LaFleur's offense had no second act. Nine rushes, 17 yards, 1.9 per carry. Love dropped back 54 times if you count the sack. He was hit 12 times. The Packers missed a red-zone fourth down after the blocked kick. They did not threaten again until it was 27-7.

Penix completed 18 of 25 for 256 yards, one touchdown, and the McKinney pick, a 101.4 rating. Nick Folk made both field goals and three extra points. The Falcons reached about 500 yards before the kneel-downs, per the Packers. Jessie Bates III left for one play in the third and came back. C.J. Henderson started in place of injured A.J. Terrell Jr. and broke up passes.

Kevin Stefanski's club goes to New Orleans on Monday night in Week 4. Green Bay visits Tampa Bay on Sunday.
