Bruins 6, Sharks 4: Pastrnak Ties Bergeron at 427

October 24, 2026 - Boston - David Pastrnak stepped out of the box, took a puck from JJ Peterka, and knuckled a wrist shot from the top of the right circle. It went off a defenseman's stick. Alex Nedeljkovic never knew if it was going up or down. TD Garden had 3-3 at 8:27 of the third, and Pastrnak had 427 Bruins goals, tied with Patrice Bergeron for third in club history.

The Boston Bruins beat the San Jose Sharks 6-4. Boston is 9-2-1, 7-0-1 in its last eight. San Jose is 6-5-1 after a six-game trip (3-2-1). Shots were 35-27 Boston. Attendance was 17,850. Fraser Minten and James Hagens are not seeded on AthX player pages, so those names stay unlinked. The Associated Press recap called Will Borgen "Will Morgan" and put Jeremy Swayman at 21 saves. The NHL box is 23 saves on 27 shots. That is the line we scored.

Minten, Casey Mittelstadt, and Hagens each had a goal and an assist. Elias Lindholm and Peterka each had two assists. Swayman stopped 23 of 27. Michael Misa, Kiefer Sherwood, Dmitry Orlov, and Will Smith scored. Jacob Trouba had two assists. Nedeljkovic stopped 29 of 34. The empty-netter did not go on him.

Pastrnak, on NHL.com: we were down by a goal in the third and then we retake the lead and stay calm. We know we were far from our best today, but it's OK because we ended up winning.

1-1, 2-2, then Orlov to 3-2

Mittelstadt opened it at 3:08. Boston's forecheck forced it loose. Lindholm chipped it across the crease. Mittelstadt tucked it under Nedeljkovic's arm from the right side. The NHL recap said it was Mittelstadt's 100th NHL goal. "Anytime you can jump on someone, especially we knew they had a long road trip and it was their last game," he told NHL.com.

Misa tied it at 5:54 on the power play. Tyler Toffoli from the right wall, a deflection, Misa at the far post.

Marat Khusnutdinov put Boston back up 2-1 at 8:20 of the second, a backhand, Morgan Geekie and Minten the assists.

Sherwood tied it short-handed at 13:34. He picked off Lindholm in the neutral zone and beat Swayman high stick side on a breakaway. The NHL recap said San Jose leads the league with four short-handed goals. The box leaves shorthandedGoals empty on Sherwood's row. The landing tags it sh, so AthX Engine adds the bonus. Orlov made it 3-2 at 4:03 of the third, a one-timer from the point on the power play. Ivar Stenberg and Mason Marchment the assists. San Jose coach Ryan Warsofsky told NHL.com they got some results, but they still have to protect the net front and start scoring 5-on-5.

3:33 that decided a trip

Pastrnak tied it at 8:27. Nedeljkovic told NHL.com it went off a D-man's stick and changed the whole trajectory. He's got a great release, but it's tough to read when two feet into it the puck goes off a stick. We just scored and we give up the lead again.

Hagens scored through the five-hole from the crease at 9:07. Lindholm the helper. 4-3. Pastrnak on Hagens: he's got the touch. He's been there and been around it the whole time and he's been productive.

Minten knocked in a rebound on the power play at 12:00. Peterka and Mittelstadt. 5-3.

Smith scored 27 seconds later at 4-on-4. Trouba and Macklin Celebrini. 5-4. "We've got to be better in front of our net," Smith told NHL.com. Boston scored a couple of goals there, especially when our line is out there.

Will Borgen hit the empty net at 19:32. 6-4.

Nedeljkovic on the trip: if you look at it on paper, not too bad. We let that one slip in Detroit, and even tonight. We'll take the .500 record, regroup at home, and hopefully come out swinging on Tuesday against Buffalo. The NHL recap said Adam Gaudette had two shots in 10:12 in his season debut.
