Blue Jays 6, Red Sox 0: Cease’s One-Hitter at Fenway

One hundred twenty pitches, one hit, and Fenway went quiet

July 25, 2026 – Boston – Dylan Cease took a no-hitter into the sixth, finished with a one-hit shutout, and raised both arms after pitch No. 120.

Twelve strikeouts. Three walks. One double from Andruw Monasterio. That was Boston’s entire offense. George Springer had already supplied a three-run homer in a five-run third. The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 6-0, per the Associated Press.

It was Toronto’s first one-hit complete-game shutout since Brandon Morrow in 2010. It was also just Boston’s second loss in 18 games after the 15-game streak died Wednesday.

Springer’s third, then Cease from sunshine into shadow

Sonny Gray (12-2) got through two quiet innings, then watched six straight Blue Jays hits in the third. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled home a run. Springer’s three-run shot made it 4-0. Ernie Clement doubled home another. 5-0.

Cease retired the first 14 before walking Caleb Durbin in the fifth. Monasterio’s leadoff double in the sixth broke up the no-hitter. Cease struck out the side in the eighth and closed the ninth with three more punchouts, the last a changeup to Wilyer Abreu that survived an ABS review.

AthX Engine

AthX Engine put Cease at 43 pitching fantasy points, the clear No. 1 arm on Saturday. Toronto finished with 15 team FP. Springer added 8 hitting FP. The board does not get cleaner than a complete-game one-hitter.

Fantasy points still aren’t share prices. Dynamic pricing sits on top.

What comes next

Cease just reminded everyone why he started the All-Star Game. Boston’s hot stretch finally met a wall. On AthX, this is the hold-and-don’t-blink start of the weekend.
