Two finals on Wednesday. Washington needed a third-period point shot after Alex Tuch had already scored short-handed. Dallas needed a fourth-round wrist shot from Roope Hintz after Colorado spent the first period putting pucks in and taking them back off. AthX Engine (our projection and scoring system) scored both NHL boxes. We recapped both. We did not invent extra games.
Top team fantasy scores
AthX Engine team points pay a win, half-credit for an overtime loss, then goals for and against. A 5-4 pays. A shootout win pays the full 12. A regulation loss that still scores four stays above the floor.
| Rank | Team | Score | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Washington Capitals | 5-4 vs MTL | 19.00 |
| 2 | Dallas Stars | 3-2 SO at COL | 16.60 |
| 3 | Colorado Avalanche | 2-3 SO vs DAL | 7.40 |
| 4 | Montreal Canadiens | 4-5 at WSH | 3.80 |
Washington owns the club night on 5-4. Dallas is 2.40 behind on a shootout. Colorado takes the overtime-loss half-credit. Montreal stays above 0 because four goals still count.
Top skaters
C, W, and D only. Goalies have their own table. Tuch's 13.30 and Arttu Hyry's 6.20 include the short-handed bonus from the landing. The skater row does not fill that column. Hyry, Lane Hutson's brother Cole, and Ilya Protas are not seeded on AthX player pages, so those names stay unlinked.
| Rank | Player | Pos | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Alex Tuch | W | WSH | 13.30 |
| 2 | Josh Anderson | W | MTL | 9.30 |
| 3 | Lane Hutson | D | MTL | 8.30 |
| 3 | Jordan Kyrou | W | WSH | 8.30 |
| 5 | Noah Dobson | D | MTL | 7.50 |
| 6 | Alex Newhook | C | MTL | 7.30 |
| 7 | Thomas Harley | D | DAL | 6.80 |
| 8 | Nick Suzuki | C | MTL | 6.30 |
| 9 | Nazem Kadri | C | COL | 6.20 |
| 9 | Arttu Hyry | W | DAL | 6.20 |
Tuch's 13.30 is two goals, an assist, and the short-handed bonus in a 5-4. Anderson's 9.30 is two even-strength tips. Hutson and Kyrou split 8.30 in the same building. Ilya Protas is 6.00, just outside this ten.
Top goalies
Win, 0.4 per save, minus 1.2 per goal against, plus 2 for a shutout, plus 0.5 for an overtime loss. Charlie Lindgren is unlinked. No shutouts on the slate.
| Rank | Player | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Casey DeSmith | DAL | 10.60 |
| 2 | Charlie Lindgren | WSH | 8.60 |
| 3 | Scott Wedgewood | COL | 6.10 |
| 4 | Jakub Dobes | MTL | 1.20 |
DeSmith's 25-save shootout win is the night's top goalie line. Lindgren wins a 5-4 and still trails him. Wedgewood takes the overtime-loss half-point. Dobes faces 23 and allows five.
Featured games
Wednesday had two finals. Both are here.
What stood out
Three things.
First, the skater board belongs to a Capital who scored short-handed and then again with 2:55 left. Tuch's 13.30 is the only line in double digits among skaters. Washington's 19.00 is the only club line that looks like a busy Tuesday.
Second, Montreal lost and still owns four of the top eight skater spots. Anderson, Hutson, Dobson, Newhook, Suzuki. The 3.80 team line does not tell that story.
Third, the goalie table is a 100th career win in Denver. DeSmith's 10.60 beats every skater except Tuch. Hintz decided it and does not show up on the skater board for the shootout.
Track the board on the marketplace. Fantasy points measure the box. Price is what traders will pay. They are not the same number.
