August 27, 2026 - Las Vegas - Eddy Pineiro made six field goals. Three of them were from 50-plus. The longest was 59 yards.
The San Francisco 49ers beat the Las Vegas Raiders 18-12 at Allegiant Stadium without an offensive touchdown. The defense kept Las Vegas out of the end zone too. San Francisco closed the preseason 2-1.
Brock Purdy did not need to play. Roster-cut night did.
Six kicks, one interception, no touchdowns
Piñeiro opened from 24 and 25. He tied it at 9 from 48 in the third, then hit 59 in the fourth for San Francisco's first lead. Las Vegas tied it at 12. Piñeiro answered from 51 with under two minutes left, then 54 with eight seconds remaining. 18-12. He finished 6-for-6 with four makes from 48-plus.
Darrell Luter Jr. tipped a Fernando Mendoza pass in the first quarter. Tatum Bethune intercepted it and returned it 16 yards to the Raiders 22. Bethune finished with nine tackles. Jaden Dugger led the 49ers with 10. Keion White sacked Mendoza for 11. Ogbo Okoronkwo added a 9-yard sack. A 54-yard Raiders try went wide left in the third.
Jordan Watkins led San Francisco with four catches for 64 yards, plus 21 rushing yards and return work. Jordan James made his 2026 preseason debut after a rib injury: eight carries for 35 yards and a 20-yard catch. Adrian Martinez found Watkins on third down in the second half.
The 49ers must trim to 53 by Sunday. They open the regular season against the Rams in Melbourne on Sept. 10, the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia.
